Students at Woodland Developmental Center gathered outside June 22nd to send off their best wishes to their peers 20 years from now. A time capsule filled with student letters, drawings, crafts and other memorabilia was placed inside a pillar outside the building. The time capsule was the idea of teacher aide Jim Demeester. He noticed that, as workers did some brick repairs outside Woodland, a pillar being worked on was hollow. He thought it was a perfect place for a time capsule. Demeester and Woodland Principal Diana Maison told those who were watching the time capsule being sealed about the contents inside and also pointed out a plaque, purchased by the school PTO, is on the pillar to remind the staff of 2038 that there’s a message inside.
