“Seven Days of Action” have been launched by the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. The Foundation, along with many other public service agencies and municipalities, is encouraging area residents to make sure to complete the 2020 census. The unfortunate timing of the census coinciding with a global pandemic is concerning to those who get funding based on the statistics harvested from the census. Congressional representation, along with federal funding allocation are all on the line every decade when the census is counted. The status of door-to-door census counting is in question as social distancing continues. The goal of the “Seven Days of Action” is to get residents to not only fill out the census themselves, but to hold friends, family, and neighbors accountable for filling it out as well. It takes about ten minutes to fill out the nine questions in the census. It can be done online, by phone, or by mail.
