Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki announces the promotion of Nathan Smith to the position of Uniform Services Lieutenant. Lt. Smith started his career at the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office in 2000 as a Uniform Services Deputy. He has held many positions within the Sheriff’s Office including; K-9 Handler, Special Response Team Member, Drug Task Force Investigator, Dive Team Member and Medical Examiner Special Investigator. He is currently enrolled in the Michigan State University School of Staff and Command, slated to graduate in June. Sheriff Biniecki stated, “He’s very pleased with Smith’s promotion and with his history of dedicated service.”
