The Salvation Army in St. Clair County is concentrating on reaching its Christmas goal of $365,000 As of Friday, December 14, only 36% of the Christmas goal had been obtained. Major Wes Dalberg, Corps Officer for Port Huron said, “The need is great. Without the community’s support they will not be able to meet the needs of all the people who come to them for help. The direct mail donations are substantially down and is important that people know their contributions remain in St. Clair County to serve the residents all year long.” Financial donations may be brought or mailed to The Salvation Army at 2000 Court Street in Port Huron or dropped into one of the familiar red kettles found at stores around the county. The Salvation Army relies on community contributions, as they are not funded by the government grants or the United Way. For further information, please contact The Salvation Army at 810-984-2679.
