Port Huron Schools now welcomes a third School Resource Officer. Deputy O’Donnell joins the district in a partnership with the St Clair County Sheriff’s Office. He will be serving Central and Fort Gratiot middle schools, Indian Woods, Keewahdin, Kimball until its closing this year, Michigamme and Thomas Edison elementary schools. Deputy O’Donnell joins Officers Dennis Huisman and Laura Phillips who serve the Port Huron city schools in partnership with the Port Huron Police Department. Superintendent Jamie Cain welcomes the additional support from local law enforcement as an additional implementation of safety for students and staff. Cain said, “Safety is the highest priority for Port Huron schools. They have had an exceptional experience in working with our two SROs and have been really pleased to see their relationship building with students, families and staff.
