Michigan has approximately 13,700 children in foster care. This year the Port Huron Parks and Recreation Department will be working with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and PCC Community Services to support foster families and low-income families in St. Clair County through child-specific gift donations. Those who want to participate can pick up a $1 “Adopt a Foster Child” bag at Palmer Park Recreation Center and then receive their child assignment. The program began on November 1st and all bags must be returned full of purchases by December 3rd to Port Huron Rec. For more information call 810-984-9760.
