Lake Huron Medical Center Earns Cancer Center Accreditation

The Commission on Cancer is a quality program of the American College of Surgeons and has granted Three-Year Accreditation to the cancer program at Lake Huron

Medical Center. To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. Kanu Dalal, MD, Radiation Oncologist at Lake Huron Medical Center commented,  “This accreditation does not change the way the hospital has been providing cancer care for more than 40 years; it affirms that the multidisciplinary approach to treatment continues to be the most effective way to treat cancer.” For more on the accreditation visit facs.org/cancer
