Karly Hurley, Station Manager of ebw.tv, has announced her planned departure after three years in the position.
“Leaving something you love doing is never an easy decision, but I am excited for the next steps in my career,” Hurley said. “It has been the greatest privilege to work at ebw.tv and to watch this organization, along with the entire community, grow and flourish in the last several years.” In her collective five years at ebw.tv, Hurley has held various positions including intern, News Director and most recently, Station Manager.
“I am confident that, as I head into the next chapter, ebw.tv is also headed into the next chapter of a bright and successful future, with the tremendous team that is set in place as I make this transition.”
One of Hurley’s most notable accomplishments during her recent tenure, with the help of many, has been the launch of the Blue Water Area’s only live TV news show, Live & Local. The show will continue in her wake. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and updates, however, the show will temporarily move to 5 p.m.
“I want to thank Larry and Leslie Boulier who have seen potential and believed in me from a very young age. You are both a tremendous asset to the community with the vision and mission you will continue through ebw.tv. I am also grateful to have worked with such great teams throughout the years at the organization, and I would be remiss if I didn’t give a special thank you to my husband who has supported me personally, but also in a professional role as my co-anchor since November. Many people questioned how we could do it, but you’ve made it fun and you filled a crucial role.”
Hurley’s last day is Friday, March 27. While she has accepted a position in the Detroit market, her and Sean, plan to remain in the Port Huron area and look forward to continuing to be involved in the community.
