Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office are inviting citizens to sit down and have a cup of coffee with them this Wednesday, October 3rd, as part of the National Coffee with a Cop day. The idea originated in 2011 with the Hawthorne, California Police Department and is now being held in all 50 states. The purpose is to break down barriers between deputies and the citizens they serve by sitting down and chatting while having a cup of coffee. Deputies will be at the Dunkin Donuts in Fort Gratiot from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
