As the result of a resignation being submitted, a vacancy for the office of Supervisor exists effective July 4, 2019. At this time the Board of Trustees is requesting all interested parties who reside within Fort Gratiot submit a letter of interest and/or a resume for consideration addressed to the Township Clerk at 3720 Keewahdin Road, Fort Gratiot, Michigan 48059, or by email to [email protected] no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Once the Clerk verifies all applicants meet the residence eligibility requirements, introductions of candidates are anticipated to occur on Friday, July 12, 2019, at a special meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Due to the vacancy, the Fort Gratiot Board of Trustees has the responsibility to appoint a person to fill the remaining term of office, which ends at 12:00 p.m. on November 20, 2020. As required by law, the Board must make an appointment and the appointee must take the Oath of Office on or before August 18, 2019.
