Rain couldn’t keep the spirit of Fallin Fest away. Families fill the Marysville Community Center for some yummy treats, face painting, a pumpkin derby, and a chance to meet first responders with the Marysville Recreation Department.

Jayden Johnson- Maryville Recreation Department is hosting their annual fallin Fest to celebrate this season’s tradition and bring joy to the community.
Stefanie Schneider- This is called the Fallen Fest um it’s we do this every year typically outside um where the kids trick or treat um we usually have bounce houses normally a food truck um this year is kind of different where we just have a candy out in the big room and then um we have cookies and cupcakes in here for the food normally we have the big trucks our police and fire department are here today but because of the rain they’re inside it is an event for everybody we send it out via Facebook we hand Flyers out to the elementary students um but it’s a good thing to do I try to do something every season just to get everybody all together in the same place so at 12:00 we’re going to do a pumpkin Derby kids get to decorate do whatever to make their pumpkin the fastest and neatest um and then we’ll have everybody race it is at the Marysville Community Center in the Marysville Park and it’s typically the second Saturday of October and it’s always from eleven to two.
Officer T.J. Williams- Basically everybody comes out today uh we have face painting uh they have the pumpkin race and we’re handing out candy to all the awesome kids here uh it brings the community together because it has all the kids coming in here seeing all the officers uh our paramedics and everybody else from the community uh with all the kids and just having fun and getting candy and playing games and face painting uh this means to me I get to see all the kids a lot of them I get to see every day in the school since I’m the school resource officer I get to see a lot of the kids so it’s a lot of fun to see them outside of school and so they can see me outside of school and see that I’m kind of a normal person and not just me in my uniform all the time so it’s pretty fun I think it’s important for the kids to see us out in the community just doing things and also being out of our uniform to see that we’re normal people that we do normal things just like they do cuz I see a lot of kids outside of the school that sometimes don’t even recognize me cuz they see me doing my job all the time.
Reilly Wright and Carli Leach- We are part of NJHS which is the National Junior Honor Society down by the middle school we do help kids in the school too tutoring sometimes uh we have leadership volunteering of course character we also go around we do babysitting for other schools we help out the other schools we sometimes even go with the high schoolers and uh in the normal National Honor Society for the kids for the kids we love the kids and everybody anybody anybody can come down do this can get stuff can go around and just do any of this it’s a fun thing for the community to have and it’s just to sort of bring the whole Community together and give them something to remember about this Halloween so we’re we’re hoping that we take we as NJHS can uh help out and do something for this community that will be memorable for these little kids who are still learning and still growing.
