East China School District students are working hard to make a difference in the community. Recently members of the Gearing Elementary Student Volunteer Club made blankets for the homeless in the area. The volunteers also designed cards and placemats for Meals on Wheels to help spread cheer to local senior citizens. Now third graders at Pine River Elementary are collecting donations for Humane Society of St. Clair County SNAP now through February 15. Items like dry kitten food, clumping cat litter, pet collars and leashes, toys and more are being collected for animals at SNAP. Monetary donations are also being collected.
