High schools across the state began their first days of practicing yesterday, with some schools slated to begin scrimmages soon. Boys tennis had tryouts yesterday and coed cross country is off to a running start.\u00a0 Girls varsity golf and boys soccer also are underway with tryouts and practices. This Saturday the annual Blue and Gold Scrimmage game will take place for the Port Huron Northern Football team at 11am on the Freshman football field at Northern.\u00a0 This Friday the coed cross country team at Port Huron High School will compete in the Mariner Invitational at Columbus County Park. Next Thursday Marysville and Port Huron High School will scrimmage each other in football at Marysville.
