Of some of the applications, Fort Gratiot Township was approved to transform the underutilized North River Park tennis courts into multi-purpose courts. The west tennis court will change to roller hockey and a basketball court, utilizing existing fencing and basketball nets, and adding boards and two hockey nets. The east court will continue to offer tennis and will add fencing and a net suitable for pickleball, as well as a new practice wall on the north fence. Funding was also proposed for bins for equipment that will be made available at no cost to users.
