A primary risk factor for melanoma is UV exposure. In Michigan in 2018, the American Cancer Society estimates there will be 2,890 new cases of melanoma. To limit your UV exposure when going outside this summer be sure to seek shade, apply sunscreen, wear hats and sunglasses to decrease your chances of developing skin cancer.
