In addition to inspiring folklore, lady slipper roots were also widely used by Native Americans as medicinal herbs. This weekend the Lady\u2019s Slippers will be in full bloom. So head to Port Austin to Enjoy Food, Fun, Crafts, Music and activities for all ages. Artists will be selling their work along the trail and the Gift Shop at the Nature Center will be open. The Lady's Slippers Festival will run 10 am to 5 pm Saturday and noon to 5 on Sunday. There will also be Birdhouse construction for children on a first come basis. You are asked to bring canned goods for the food pantry or donation to cover the costs of materials."}
