The Port Huron Downtown Development Authority board is proposing for additional parking on 4th Street east of the Harrington Inn. The plan is to slightly widen 4th St by 5 feet that would be able to accommodate angle parking, which adds an additional 15 parking spots. This widening of the road would still fit within the road right-of-way and would need no additional land to be purchased. The project would be paid for from the Harrington TIF, which currently has the funding available. The board estimates the cost to be less than $75,000. If the project is approved, the construction will start as soon as this summer.
