In a continued effort of collaboration and regional recognition St. Clair County businesses, non-profits and civic organizations have worked together to bring Crain’s Detroit Business NEXT Breakfast Series to the Blue Water Area.
The series of thought-leadership events, which kicks off in St. Clair County, is aimed at “discovering what’s next in economic development across the state of Michigan.” The breakfast, to be held at the Blue Water Area Convention Center, will draw leaders from across southeastern Michigan on February 15th to hear paneled discussions featuring with local business figures serving as speakers. Some of those individuals include: St. Clair County Commissioner Jeff Bohm; Kathy Vertin, owner of Marine City’s Riverbank and Snug Theatres; and Kelly Wolgamott, director of marketing for Pure Michigan, on the region’s brand, the talent gap and other relevant economic development and progress occurring.“We often talk about disruption as it relates to corporations and institutions, but municipalities and counties also experience tumultuous times as a result of change,” said Ron
Fournier, publisher of Crain’s Detroit Business. Crain’s will moderate and facilitate the event and discussions taking place from 9:30 a.m. to noon on the 15th.
In addition to hosting the breakfast, Crain’s Business Detroit will release a special Michigan Business edition to readers February 12th drawing attention to St Clair County and it’s ongoing Blue Meets Green initiative. The issue will highlight the infrastructure, workforce and overall environment for success.
