The Equity and Inclusion Committee of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County has announced a new initiative. Right now, the focus on the group is to assist minority-owned and women-owned businesses in applying for local, state, and federal aid that is available to businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis. They have enlisted the help of small business consultants Great Workplaces, LLC and the Michigan Small Business Development Center, underwritten by the Community Foundation’s Thumbcoast COVID Response fund. The consultants will not only assist with the aid applications, but can help build relationships with the Chamber of Commerce and the EDA. To get connected to resources related to COVID-19 aid, businesses can contact Kevin Totty at the Community Foundation at [email protected]. The Equity and Inclusion Committee was started late last year and is chaired by Jazmyn Thomas, who is joined by fourteen other members.
