The strong storms that came through our area on Saturday afternoon have left many in Port Huron, Fort Gratiot, and surrounding areas without power. Most of the power outages were due to downed power lines. If you see downed lines do not go near it, and never drive across them. On their website, DTE reported that as of 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, approximately 390,000 DTE Energy customers were without power as a result of two waves of severe weather that came through southeast Michigan Friday and Saturday. DTE is updating their system and they expect power to be restored for most customers soon. They expected to restore 150,000 customers Sunday and another 150,000 on Monday, which means they will have 80% of their customers restored by the end of the day today.
