As a result of the recent resignation of Karl Tomion being submitted, a vacancy on the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners representing District 2 will exist effective June 6. At this time the Board of Commissioners is requesting all interested parties who reside within District 2 submit a letter of interest and/or a resume for consideration addressed to the County Clerk at 201 McMorran Blvd in Port Huron no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 12. Applicants must be registered to vote, and live in District 2, which includes the north end of Port Huron as well as Fort Gratiot and Burtchville townships. Once the Clerk verifies all applicants meet the residence eligibility requirements, interviews of selected candidates are anticipated to occur on June 13.
