AAA Michigan has tips for car users during the cold winter months. When you start your car, if the engine is slow to turn over, or if the dashboard lights and or headlights seem dimmer than usual, then have your battery checked. Make sure all fans, lights, interior lights, and radio is turned off before starting the car. If you have a garage keep your car in it. This will help the car be a lot warmer in the morning and keep the car from being frozen shut outside. During the winter keep your gas tank half filled to prevent line freeze-ups. The last tip is to keep a spare set of keys if you start up your car and wait for it to warm up, just in case you lock yourself out of your vehicle.
