The state recently selected eight waterways totaling more than 540 miles that flow through more than a dozen counties as the first state-designated water trails in Michigan. One of the eight that was selected in the group is the Island Loop here in St. Clair County. The Island Loop that covers 10 miles of waterways that gives paddlers three options to start or end at such as The Black River, the Black River Canal and the St. Clair River. Not only is the Island Loop now on the map but we can expect to see more paddlers testing out the waters come this summer!
