St. Clair County’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management reported that there is a Rescue Task Force Equipment Fund set up to raise $102,000 to provide each Fire Department in the county and several EMS Units with 3 sets of ballistic equipment, 3 personal first aid kits, and a mass casualty bag that can provide treatment to 5 people in the field. The community can help by “Adopting” a first response agency with a donation of $3,400 to provide an agency with the necessary equipment or by giving a monetary donation of any amount. As of today Homeland Security and Emergency Management have received over $25,000 toward the effort.
