The unemployment rate in Port Huron has dropped nearly 10 percent since 2014. The unemployment rate currently sits at 5.8% from 15.6% in January 2014. As reported the Census Bureau says the poverty rate is declining as well. The numbers reflect on the city seeing more than $360 million dollars in new investments and more than 1,200 new jobs. The numbers do not include the newly announced developments such as the Harrington Inn, another $12 million project with 60 new jobs.
